About the Author
Louise Bernice Halfe is an award-winning Cree poet and novelist. She is a member of the Muskeg Lake Cree Nation in Saskatchewan, Canada. Halfe's work has been widely praised for its honesty, its beauty, and its insights into the Indigenous experience.
Halfe has published five books of poetry, including Bear Bones & Feathers (1993),Blue Marrow (1998),and The Crooked Good (2016). She has also published two novels, Bear Woman (2009) and Ain't Got No Home in This World Anymore (2019).
Halfe's work has been translated into several languages, and she has received numerous awards, including the Governor General's Award for Poetry (2018) and the Saskatchewan Book Award for Poetry (2017).
