Early Life and Career

Derrick Henry was born in Yulee, Florida, on January 4, 1994. He attended Yulee High School, where he was a standout running back. As a senior, he rushed for 2,264 yards and 26 touchdowns. He was named the Florida Mr. Football and was selected to play in the Under Armour All-America Game.

Henry committed to the University of Alabama to play college football. He played sparingly as a freshman but emerged as a star in his sophomore season. He rushed for 990 yards and 11 touchdowns in 2013. In his junior season, he led the nation in rushing with 2,219 yards and 28 touchdowns. He won the Heisman Trophy and was named the AP College Football Player of the Year.

NFL Career

Henry was drafted by the Tennessee Titans with the 45th overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft. He played sparingly as a rookie but took over as the Titans' lead running back in 2017. He has rushed for over 1,000 yards in each of the past four seasons and has led the NFL in rushing twice.
