Allen was born in 1891 in a small town in Iowa. He showed an early aptitude for science and music, and by the age of 16, he had invented a new type of engine. He went on to study at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where he excelled in his studies.
After graduating from MIT, Allen worked as an engineer for several years. However, he eventually left his job to pursue his passion for music. He became a successful musician, playing in clubs and concert halls across the country.
In the early 1920s, Allen began to develop a strange obsession with immortality. He claimed to have discovered the secret to eternal life, and he began to experiment on himself with various chemicals and drugs.
In 1924, Allen died under mysterious circumstances. His body was found in his apartment, and there were no signs of foul play. The official cause of death was ruled to be suicide, but many people believe that Allen was murdered.
The mystery surrounding Allen's death has never been solved. Some people believe that he was killed by a secret society that feared his knowledge of immortality. Others believe that he was killed by a jealous rival. Still others believe that he committed suicide because he could not bear the thought of living forever.
Whatever the truth may be, Dan Allen's story is a fascinating and haunting tale of a man who was obsessed with the impossible. Eulogy for an Immortal is a gripping account of Allen's life and death, and it is a must-read for anyone who is interested in the mysteries of the human condition.
